Whereas an insurance company’s ‘Preferred Repairer’ means that your vehicle is sent somewhere within their closed network of companies that they have volume agreements with.

 

What’s wrong with not choosing your own repairer?

The biggest concern when getting your car repaired is how well the job is done. Whether you love your car and want to keep it for the years to come, or whether you want it to look perfect when it’s time to sell. In some cases, an insurance company may have a special agreement with a repairer, where a certain amount of work is promised, and in return a discount is given to the insurer.

 

With repairers giving discounts to insurers, they are more likely to cut corners to save on costs, leading to a repair that is sub-par.
